Healthcare employeesIn spite of data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indicating that March saw a deceleration in job growth in the healthcare sector compared with the first two months of the year, a majority of healthcare workers feel confident in their ability to find new jobs.  At the same time, 80% of them consider it unlikely that they will lose their jobs, and 66% are confident in their companies’ financial health, according to the Randstad Healthcare Employee Confidence Index.

The slowdown in March notwithstanding, the growth of jobs in healthcare is greater for the first quarter of 2012 than for the same period last year, and employment is expected to continue increasing.  Over 18% of jobs created last year were in the healthcare industry.
