How the Allscripts Patient Kiosk Works

Patients are able to walk up to the kiosk and either waves his or her hand above the reader or swipes a card. The system immediately identifies the patient and allows him or her to verify his or her identity and update any information. The patient can also indicate a reason for visit, acknowledge HIPAA forms, and even take a photo for their EHR chart. Once the patient has registered, Allscripts is automaticallly updated with the "I am here" flag, notifying the staff that the patient is ready to see the physician.
